For Immediate Release – January 31, 2012
(Fort Mitchell, Kentucky) Tom Wurtz, 56, a lifetime Republican and resident of Northern Kentucky has announced his candidacy for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District for the U. S. House of Representatives. The seat is being vacated by Rep. Geoff Davis in 2012. Wurtz has never run for political office before.
Wurtz is currently the President of Tom Wurtz Consulting which provides leadership and profit consulting services. He also writes a weekly leadership column (Eagle e-Lesson) for his business subscribers. He is a speaker, author, columnist, constitutional-conservative and active in politics.
He was previously employed, for thirty years, by The Sheakley Group, a consulting firm in Cincinnati where he last served as President and Chief Operating Officer. He helped build Sheakley from $500,000 in revenue to $70 million.
Wurtz has been a keynote speaker at the Northern Kentucky Tea Party in Boone, Campbell, Kenton and Grant counties as well as the Maysville Tea Party. Over the past eighteen months, he’s written over 125 political articles on federal, state and local issues. Many have been featured in The Journal News and various Community Recorders. His current political column, Poli-ticked, is hosted on his website (TomWurtz.com). New articles are published every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
“I will clearly be the most transparent candidate running in this race. I’ve published over a half-million words concerning business leadership and politics. If voters read my political columns, they will know more about my political views than all the other candidates combined.”
He is the author of three books:
The Eagle Within – Success Principles from a Simple American;
The Score’s Wrong – The Lunatic Rantings of a Volleyball Dad; and
Corporate Common Sense – Revolutionary Business Lessons Inspired by Thomas Paine.
In 2012, Wurtz will be releasing two new books:
Corporate Common Sense II – Business Success Based on Paine
Poli-ticked – These Are the Times That Try My Soul!
Why is Wurtz running for Congress?
“I can’t take what’s happening to America any longer. For the past 100 years, America has been under attack by progressives, marxists, socialists and communists! America is losing. Our country is financially and politically broke.
Federally, we spend $3.8 trillion per year while federal revenue is only $2.2 trillion. I will pursue “The 10% Plan” that will cut debt, taxes and regulations by 10% per year for four years to restore jobs, self-reliance and freedom.
So what are the details? Over the next several months, I will be sharing the specifics of “The 10% Plan” by revealing my 12-step strategy called R4: Repeal, Reduce, Reform & Restore. Starting in February, I will be conducting monthly Town Hall meetings throughout the 4th District to discuss my plan.
It’s time for tough new leaders in Congress, not weak-kneed consensus builders. You don’t compromise with politicians who want to fundamentally destroy our freedoms and free market system. You expose and defeat them in the arena of ideas. We need a passionate representative who will fight for ‘We the People’ of Kentucky’s 4th District and the U.S. Constitution. I want that job!
I plan on running a non-traditional campaign. For example, I will not be conducting any fundraisers. I don’t want people to send money. I want 4 minutes of their time every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to read my political articles. If they accept my challenge, they will be the most educated voter in the history of their family. If my political principles mirror theirs, I would appreciate their support.”
Wurtz has been married to his third-grade sweetheart for thirty-five years. He has three daughters and twin granddaughters.
