While I would like to start introducing myself in a Bond-like manner, “Wurtz, Tom Wurtz,” proposed federal legislation (S.1877) is way too creepy for me. On November 16, 2011, Robert Casey (D-PA) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) proposed legislation that would turn every adult in the United States into secret agent James Bond. Do police-states scare you as much as they scare me? Here’s the official text:

“Mr. CASEY (for himself and Mrs. BOXER) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. To amend the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to require manadory reporting of incidents of child abuse or neglect, and for other purposes.”

MANDATORY REPORTING! What does that mean? Must I now watch my neighbors’ children and look for suspicious signs of foul play? What does “and for other purposes” mean? Who will decide that definition? How do you argue with complete idiots? Those unique individuals who ignore facts and choose to see the world through the eyes of a child. All we can do is educate ourselves. Here are some political facts that will make you cry, but they are fun facts to discuss with your uninformed liberal family members and friends.

According to the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP):

ü      Only 40% of 4^th-graders are proficient in math.

ü      Only 34% of 8^th-graders are proficient in math.

ü      Only 32% of 4^th-graders & 8^th-graders can read proficiently.

ü      Since 1970, student enrollment in public elementary and post secondary schools has increased by 7% while staff hiring has increased by 83%.

ü      In the1950s, the teacher to non-teacher ratios in public schools was 2.36 to 1. Today, the ratio is closer to 1 to 1. (Great for unions. Not so great for taxpayers.)

ü      In the last decade, education spending has increased by 57%, plus another $100 billion from the 2009 stimulus act, plus another $10 billion from Democrats in Congress for something called the “edujobs” bill.

ü      Since 1965, the federal government has tripled spending on education without achieving ANY improvements. Continue reading →

If you wanted to destroy America, what would be the easiest strategy? Bankrupt it! I believe that’s why 162 Democrats and 3 Republicans voted against a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution of the United States. We are $15 trillion in debt and the Democrats and a few Republicans apparently need more debt to feed their tax addiction.

Are our tax rates too low? The United States currently has the highest corporate tax rate in the galaxy. Our taxes aren’t too low. Our spending is to high. Why would any American vote for a group of anti-American politicians determined to bankrupt America, unless destroying America is your real goal?

In this fiscal year, our federal government will spend $3.8 trillion while only collecting $2.2 trillion in revenues. Yes, a deficit of $1.6 trillion in one year. If you’re a Democrat, that deficit makes sense to you. If you’re a Republican, that deficit doesn’t look too bad. If you’re a Constitutional-Conservative, that deficit looks insane.
