Kentucky State Representative Dennis Keene (D-Wilder) has submitted a pre-filed gambling bill that could possibly destroy his relationship with President Obama and the entire Democratic Party. It’s shocking to see a Democrat embracing Kentucky’s “Haves” while the President and his party have been playing the Saul Alinsky tune of bashing the very same “Haves.” This is not going to end well for Rep. Keene.
In President Obama’s 2009 inaugural address, he set the tone for his administration’s never-ending class-warfare attacks. To this day, he continues to complain about the growing gap between the rich and poor:
“…a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous… The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our Gross Domestic Product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart – not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.”
Keene’s plan is to allow Kentucky’s “Haves” to build free-standing casinos and permit racetracks to do the same which violates President Obama’s message of “extend opportunity to every willing heart.” Rep. Keene’s bill only permits counties with populations over 90,000 this special casino privilege. Continue reading
